Raising money with our Feet!
During the months of May, June and July some of the staff at The Foot Room are raising money for cancer charities. Walking, running and doing foot treatments with the aim of raising as much money as possible for these fabulous 3 charities.
Jen Royle, Director, has been training for her first marathon and will be running the Liverpool Rock and Roll Marathon on 26th May. Her chosen charity is Sarcoma UK which is a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments. Jen lost her only brother to Sarcoma in 2016 and is running in his memory. So far, she has raised over £800.
In July, Jen Clash, Receptionist and Sue Berry, Reflexologist, are joining the Sutcliffe Striders to complete a marathon walk for Macmillan Cancer Support. The team have been out training in all weathers and hope to raise more than £7000. Macmillan provide physical, emotional and financial support to help cancer sufferers live life as fully as they can.
On the 1st June, Sarah Carroll, Director, Alice Marsden, Podiatrist and Sue Berry will be opening the doors of The Foot Room, with help from friends and family, to run a donation only clinic. This is to raise money for The Katy Holmes Trust. The Katy Holmes Trust is dedicated to raising awareness of children’s brain tumours and fund research. Katy was 10 when she was diagnosed and died of a brain tumour. She would have been 18 this year. The minimum price for a traditional Podiatry / Chiropody treatment, Reflexology or foot massage on this day will be £18. There will also be a cake sale and a raffle with some fabulous prizes.
