Celebrating 100th Issue
In June we celebrated the 100th Issue of our very first magazine. It was back in 2005 after having had my third child I decided I wanted to work from home, and so decided to produce a community magazine with a truly local heart. After much hard work the first 2000 copies of ‘The Goosnargh and Grimsargh Guide’ were printed and hand delivered by myself and my family, and so the business was born.
Within 6 months, demand from advertisers led to an expansion to include Longridge aswell. Further growth took in new areas and as the essence of the magazines are to be locally relevant, different titles were produced to remain specific to each area.
The Guide covers Goosnargh, Grimsargh, Longridge, Ribchester & Chipping.
The Handbook serves Walton le Dale, Higher Walton & Hoghton.
The Directory targets Cottam, Lea, Broughton, Barton & Bilsborrow.
Fulwood Focus is delivered throughout all of Fulwood.
Altogether 27,500 homes receive one of Jam Publications magazines.
All the magazines dedicate on average 25% FREE to advertise local community events, groups and charitable organisations, this along with our tailored approach to suit individual business needs has been the key to our success.
As well as achieving the original personal aim of a great work/life balance, it has been hugely rewarding to see local businesses thrive and to receive such positive feedback from the community pages.
I personally would like to say a Big Thank You to all our contributors over the last 8½ years. And to you, the readers, for supporting your local community publication. Congratulations to the 100’s of you who, over the years, have successfully found Miti our 6 year old Hungarian Vizsla who each month hides throughout the pages of this magazine – here she is in colour.
She is hiding again in this issue – can you find her? To enter and win £25 please send in your answer to the usual addresses detailed below or email competitions@jampublications.co.uk
Here’s to the next 100 issues, Cheers!
