Inter Pub Golf Challenge
Sunday 24th July saw the 3rd Inter Pub Golf Challenge hard fought battle between the Swan Inn, the Boars Head, the Mill Tavern & the Black Horse. Once again, the seemingly invincible Boars Head lads came out on top for the 3rd year running.
The event is purely a bragging rights exercise & ALL monies raised go to a charity chosen by the winning team. This year we managed to raise a very healthy £1000 for Theo’s Journey. Theo’s Granddad, Graham Jordan attended the evening presentation once again held at the Boars Head, their right as current Champions, & was delighted to receive the cheque.
First year saw 32 golfers fight for their life, year two, 40 golfers & this year 48 golfers (and I do use the term golfer very loosely) take to the course at Pleasington. The course looked & played immaculate.
I would like to thank the respective landlords & landladies of each pub for their continued support as without which, this wouldn’t happen. So Michelle, Bridget & Joanne at the Swan, Glyn at the Mill Tavern, Stuart at the Black Horse & Scott & Jo at the Boars Head a very big thank you. Once again, the food & the hospitality at the Boars Head was fantastic.
Also, a big thank you to the Captains, Skippy (& Reece), Bernie & Glyn to help get the teams together, all the players that took part & also to all those family & friends that turned up to the presentation and made a real good night of it. All the ingredients needed to make an excellent day.
Already looking forward to next year & hopefully see a new name added to the Inter Pub Challenge Trophy, but for now, Well played the Boars Head, very worthy winners..Cheers Nick.
