Barbara’s Cambodia Trek

Barbara Seed of Longridge will trek across Cambodia in aid of Breast Cancer Now in November 2018, with her best friend Teresa Simpson, to mark 13 years since she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

It will be a 10 day Trek across the South East Asian Country. Walking through the scenic landscapes, staying at local villages and camping along the way.

The 52 year old said: “12 years ago I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and underwent 2yrs of surgery & treatment, I wanted to do something to mark this occasion, I wanted to give something back. To have been well for 13 years is a big achievement. It is down to the fund raising that people have done in the past that I am here now, so I wanted to give something back for the future.”

Having never undertaken anything like this before, Barbara said; “I am apprehensive about the Trek, I’m particularly worried about the heat, but you have to do things while you are fit and able. Life is for living.”

The pair need to raise £3000 each which will go directly to the charity  Breast Cancer Now.

Breast Cancer Now is the UK’s largest breast cancer research charity created by the merger of  Breast Cancer Campaign and Breakthrough Breast Cancer, the charity’s ambition is that by 2050 everyone who develops breast cancer will live
